Powder EM carrier mix:

Potent mix of dormant microorganisms in a carbon rich base. once added to the moist ingredients in your bokashi bucket, the microorganisms start multiplying and fermenting your waste. It has a shelf life of 2-3 years.

Liquid EM carrier mix:

No matter where you buy your liquid EM mix, it has a shelf life of two weeks (even if it states otherwise!) So be wary of buying it off the shelf! Science trumps marketing every time.

We ferment fresh mix on site at Compost Community to fulfil your order. When you receive your liquid (if you've added it to your order - optional), you need to release the lid to allow the gasses to escape. It is highly unlikely that you will use the whole litre in two weeks, but don't dispair. Simply top up fortnightly with molasses (or organic sugar) and distilled water. This provides food for the microbes to continue to multiply.
