Policies and terms

Worm Policy
Worms are harvested fresh and leave the farm in excellent condition. No responsibility can be taken for worms once they leave the premises here as we have no control over their transport, storage or time taken to unpack them and set up the worm farm. By ordering works you agree to:
  • unpack them immediately on receipt
  • collect them immediately if they are diverted to post office or other collection point
  • not leave them in a hot car
  • provide a cool and shaded location for delivery and storage
  • read the 'learn' section for advice on caring for your worms
  • not hold Compost Community or its suppliers responsible for injury or death of worms once shipped.

It takes about an hour to harvest 1000 worms, so please give us at least a day's notice for pickup orders.

Worms are available for pick up year round. During warmer months, post will be delayed as we wait for a string of cooler days, therefore:
  • we encourage pickup of worms during these times
  • having your order delivered to your office or a place that has someone present at all times to sign for and bring indoors, or
  • ordering without worms.

By ordering worms with your farm, you agree to these terms and conditions.
Shipping
Compost Community ships in batches fortnightly. All orders are reviewed for eligibility so please allow at least 10-14 days for delivery.

  • Signature on delivery: We will do this by default if there are no delivery instructions. However our Courier (Sendle) may deliver to your local newsagent if you are not home. We can send selected items by Australia Post if you specify this in delivery notes.
  • Safe drop: If you specify a location for safe drop we are able to leave it without a signature. Please note that our Courier and Australia Post will not honour insurance on safe drop, as thefts occasionally do occur, so select this option at your own risk.

Can I have my item/s shipped to my work (or other) address?
Yes, we can deliver anywhere in metro Melbourne. Please ensure that you put your home address in "Billing Address" and delivery address in "Shipping Address" so that we can confirm your eligibility and cross reference your home address to verify your order without any delays.

Can I pick my item/s up?
Yes, you are welcome to pick items up from Langwarrin. This will save you on postage for non-subsidised items. Select the Click and Collect option for pickup.

Return to sender and repeat deliveries
Please:
  • Check your emails for tracking number and alerts from the courier (this may be in your junk folder)
  • Check your letterbox for missed delivery cards
  • pick your item up from post office/newsagent within specified time
Items returned to sender and reshipped will incur a redelivery fee.
